How to use your intuition to your advantage.

In my last post, which was about recognizing our inner voice, we talked about five ways to distinguish it from our logic and emotions—which is all that inner chatter that we have running around inside our heads. But what if you’re not a word person? What if you are more visually-oriented, feeling-oriented, or intuitively-oriented?
There are definitely ways other than words (or in addition to words) by which you can recognize your own truth. In fact, you might receive hits several ways at once. For example, you may simultaneously hear words and see an image in your head, while feeling a tingling sensation in your belly.
For example, a woman whom I interviewed for my book, Your heart Knows the Answer gave a perfect example of this phenomenon. She explained how she was working at a client’s office on a sweltering July day. Unfortunately, her desk was way across the room from a small, inefficient air conditioner, and she was having a real hard time being productive. Suddenly an image flashed in her mind where she saw herself sitting on the floor on the side of the room nearer to the air conditioner with her papers spread out all around her and ideas pouring out of her head like a waterfall. Then she heard the words, “Move over there.” You’d better believe that she got a lot done during the remainder of the day.
In my next post we’ll look at how bodily cues can bring you important messages. If you have any examples, I’d love for you to leave them in a comment, and I’ll include it in the post.
